In partnership with Buddy Up for Life
Athletes on court, buddies beside them.
A weekly 90-minute clinic for athletes with Down syndrome, age 5 and up: 30 minutes of fitness conditioning, then 60 minutes of professional tennis instruction. Our athletes range from 5 years old to nearly 55.
Two ways in
Pick the side you are joining from.
Every athlete is paired with a volunteer buddy for the session. Both roles matter, and both start on the same website.
For athletes
Ninety minutes a week of real coaching from our pros, in a setting built for you. Fitness first, then tennis.
- Friendships that carry on past the last ball of the session.
- Tennis fundamentals taught by professional instructors.
- Core strength and conditioning in the first 30 minutes.
- Social and emotional growth in an inclusive environment.
For volunteer buddies
You are on court beside one athlete for the whole session: encouraging, feeding balls, keeping the energy up.
- Support one athlete through fitness and tennis each week.
- Service hours for school, scholarship or club requirements.
- College recommendation letters for buddies who stay with it.
- A real way to give back to the community you play in.
How a clinic runs
Ninety minutes, same shape every week.
- 30 minutes of fitness conditioning to warm up, build core strength and get moving.
- 60 minutes of tennis instruction from our professional coaching staff.
- One buddy per athlete, on court for the full session.
- Weekly: it is a standing appointment, not a one-off event.
Develop brave athletes on the court with the self-worth and confidence to conquer their challenges and achieve their fullest potential off the court.
Registration goes through Buddy Up for Life.
Athletes and buddies both sign up there. Five Star Tennis Center does not manage registrations or applications, but we are here if you have questions about the clinic itself.
